👉 The recent developments in “Rationalism” and “Science,” while they may have enhanced physical comforts, have weakened “Spiritual” faith. When science reduced humans to mere biological entities and denied the existence of any soul within them, rejected the existence of God, and explained this creation solely based on the natural processes of atoms, then naturally, the new generation, which excessively believes in empirical evidence, will not uphold that faith? It is evident that the thoughtful class is becoming insensitive, and this is a dreadful situation because behind the intellectual class, the rest of the society is compelled to follow. Today’s slightly insensitive intellectuals must be adorned with their beliefs, having obscured the entire society with their ideologies from yesterday to today.
👉 “Spiritual” beliefs constitute the backbone of virtues such as righteousness, cooperation, empathy, service, benevolence, self-control, and sacrifice. The control of human beings over their inherent bestiality and materialism for the sake of divine contentment, ultimate righteousness, heaven and hell, karma-phala, etc., is made possible by following these essential virtues for the welfare of society. If that foundation is destroyed; if those beliefs are considered mere fabrications, then neither will anyone feel the need to be disciplined nor righteous, nor will there be any desire for virtuous deeds, nor for ultimate salvation. No one will talk about sacrifice, nor will anyone talk about sacrifice; then people will be ready to perform any unethical deed by adopting the ideal of ‘eat, drink, and be merry’, just to indulge in more pleasure, so that they can have more opportunities to indulge in more enjoyment.
