Labor is not about shame, it’s a matter of pride.

👉 The greatest foundation of human life is “labor”. The fulfillment of our most basic needs – food, clothing, shelter – is achieved through someone’s “labor”. Even transforming the food into edible bread requires labor, and without “labor”, it cannot be properly digested and assimilated into the body as vital nutrients. Despite knowing all this, humans constantly strive to avoid “labor”. Instead of trying to offload their workload onto others, they invent various devices to fulfill tasks with their own hands and feet. As a result, although the intellectual capacities of humans may increase, their physical strengths diminish, and their lives become artificial and dependent. Despite giving importance to artificial things and considering them as sources of pride, in the struggle of life, one has to endure adversities caused by them. In this regard, a writer has rightly said:
“I don’t know where this wrong notion has come from that there is no happiness in avoiding “effort”. Effort brings some tiredness, but without “labor”, the source of strength dries up. According to me, there is no greater achievement than ‘achieving through labor’. Not doing anything is akin to dying while alive.”
👉 “Effort” is the foundation of life. It is the thing that every human has inherited. From the beginning, one wants to work with the body. Due to this work, the body grows and becomes nourished. Physical “labor” is the primary capital of life. Therefore, it is our first duty to work with our body. The strength of hands and feet is necessary on every step. It is natural that the parts of the body we do not work with will wither away in a few days. They can only remain healthy and capable of performing their tasks diligently through “practice” and “labor”.
