➖ Understand the Importance of Sense Control ➖

👉 There are many aspects of self-control, among which the foremost is “control of the senses.” The first aspect of sense control is “control of the tongue.” By being influenced by the habits of indulgence in taste under the guise of taste, we consume unhealthy, overly spicy, fried food. Due to being under the influence of the tongue’s desires, we often eat food that is half-cooked, without even chewing it properly. As a result, the stomach has to work harder than its natural capacity. Consequently, it starts suffering from indigestion. Avoiding this calamity is in our hands. The purity of food should not be compromised, and the tempting nature of spiciness should not be encouraged.
👉 Eat only half your stomach’s capacity. For this, set a fixed time for two meals a day. After an hour of eating, gradually sip water into the stomach with several glasses. Develop the habit of taking deep breaths so that sufficient oxygen is provided to the vital organs, aiding in their nourishment. Physical exertion should not be considered sufficient; physical activity should be incorporated into daily life in such a way that all organs receive stimulation, and rigidity and inactivity do not set in.
👉 Being able to control the tongue is half the health protection. Diet is linked to recreation. Recreation involves organizing daily activities, including a sense of busyness. Understand the importance of exertion and keep enthusiasm alive in it. Additionally, sweet conversation is also part of tongue control. By honoring others with your humility, praising them, one returns to good conduct from all aspects, resulting in mental contentment and maintaining health.
👉 The other aspect of sense control is “control of lust.” Excessive indulgence in physical sexual behavior is similar to constantly indulging in lewd thoughts, which keeps the mind filled with excitement, not diminishing other weighty matters. This can be called a fault of contemplation and perspective. In lust, engaging in lewd thoughts or continuously acting on those excitations in behavior is like puncturing a water-filled pot. This leads to wastage of the precious wealth of vital energy, and the hollow individual cannot maintain their stability and capability intact. Managing one’s tendencies extraordinarily is akin to striking one’s own feet with an ax. Today, the environment is flooded with stimuli that incite lust, such as literature, music, acting, images, the internet, etc., but wise individuals should certainly practice self-protection against this pollution.
