👉 There can only be two uses of life: the first, a life so engrossed in the traps of desires and cravings where there is no desire for self-realization and no opportunity arises for the pursuit of self-welfare. The second, one where, while spending time contentedly with limited aspirations, individuals fulfill the present responsibilities of the world like a karma yogi, managing spiritual practices alongside worldly duties peacefully. Undoubtedly, the latter course of life is more farsighted and beneficial. However, it is astonishing and regrettable that today we have all adopted the lifestyle where besides unrest, destruction, and regret, there is nothing to gain.
👉 It is essential to contemplate on and ponder over these two lifestyles and consider whether finding a solution to utilize the invaluable human life after millions of years is necessary or not. How much thought and effort are put into resolving many common problems, and how effective solutions are derived from them? It’s lamentable that despite billions of rupees, the question of effectively utilizing this rare human life is overlooked. If it were possible to estimate the pain and regret this negligence causes today, surely this mistake should be rectified immediately.
👉 Leisure is always found for essential tasks. Tasks of lesser importance are set aside to prioritize necessary actions. If a woman or child falls severely ill, one has to devote time to their medical treatment and care, leaving aside trivial tasks. Even busy individuals don’t find it difficult to spend ample time for the welfare of their loved ones. For tasks perceived as necessary and useful, time is allocated by shoving aside the countless tasks of busyness. If leisure is not available for “self-welfare,” it merely implies that “this task has been considered the most useless and futile and thrown into the ‘waste’ bin of negligence.” Tasks perceived as significant always receive priority, and time is immediately available for them. The lack of time usually remains for things we perceive as “insignificant,” “useless,” or “wasteful.”
👉 Is it appropriate for us to neglect “self-welfare,” to have no leisure, and to spend twenty-four hours pleasing the body and mind? Will this policy lead our lives to success? This is a thought-provoking question. The sooner we address it, derive the correct conclusions, the better it is for us.
