Lord!! Please give me so much that my family can live comfortably!!

This is a story from ancient times, in a village where two farmers lived. Both were very poor, and they each had a little plot of land where they worked hard to make a living for themselves and their families. Suddenly, one day, both of them died at the same time. Yamaraj (the god of death) took them both to the Lord.

After seeing them, the Lord asked, “What do you want now? What was lacking in your life, and what do you want to become so that I can send you back to the world?” Hearing the Lord’s question, one farmer angrily said, “Oh Lord!! You gave me a very difficult life in this birth. You didn’t give me anything. I worked like an ox in the fields my whole life. Whatever I earned was just enough to fill my stomach. I never wore good clothes, and I never could feed my family well. Whatever money I earned, someone would come and take it away, and I was left with nothing. Look at the kind of life I’ve lived, like an animal.” After listening to him, the Lord remained silent for a while and then asked him again, “So what do you want now in this life? What should I make you?” The farmer replied, “Lord, please do something so that I never have to give anything to anyone. I only received money from all sides. Please grant my request.” After hearing his request, the Lord said, “So be it! You will never have to give anything to anyone.”

Upon hearing this, the other farmer pleaded with the Lord, “Oh Lord!! You have given me everything. What more can I ask from you? You have given me a good family, some land to work hard on, and I have provided a good life for my family. You have provided me and my family with ample food to eat. I have never let my family go hungry. There was only one deficiency in my life, which I have always regretted and still do. Sometimes hungry and thirsty people would come to my door, begging for food, but due to lack of food, I couldn’t feed them, and they would leave my door hungry.” After hearing his words, the Lord asked, “So what do you want now in this life? What should I make you?” The farmer folded his hands before the Lord and said, “Oh Lord!! Do something so that no one ever goes hungry or thirsty from my door.”

“Let it be so! You shall never see anyone go hungry or thirsty from your door,” said the Lord.

Now both were born in the same village again. They grew up, and the first person who asked the Lord to receive money from all sides became the biggest beggar in that village. Now he didn’t have to give anything to anyone, and whoever came would leave money in his bag. And the second person who asked the Lord that no one should go hungry or thirsty from his door became the richest person in the village.

Moral of the story: Dear friends!! It is very important to be content with what God has given. Often, it is observed that everyone likes other people’s things more, and in this pursuit, they are unable to live their own lives well. Friends!! Every situation has two aspects – positive and negative. Now it depends on your thinking whether you see things negatively or positively. If you want to live a good life, then make your thinking positive, don’t find faults in things, but enjoy what God has given, and always maintain a spirit of support and service towards others!! Everything is accumulated only with those who know how to share, whether it’s food, wealth, or respect!!
